Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Salary 35-45k(neg.)

 

Our client is seeking a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join their technical team. The individual will lead product regulatory activities to ensure compliance with the appropriate chemical control laws for the global markets. As such, the role requires expert knowledge of chemical control regulations.

The Senior Regulatory Compliance will be responsible for leading product regulatory activities through monitoring, developing, and implementing strategies/programs to ensure compliance with the required chemical control laws.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Toxicology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • More than 5 years of experience in a regulatory discipline or relevant industrial experience.
  • Good knowledge/experience in chemical regulations such as GHS, CLP, REACH.
  • Experience working in a role related to chemical regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in hazard classification and labeling for a variety of chemicals.
  • Knowledge and experience of regional REACH requirements.
  • Experience with SDS software such as Almego (desirable).
  • Proven track record in project management and a results-driven approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a global team environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively for both self and the organization.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Degree educated in Chemistry, Toxicology, or Sciences (Hons).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within the Regulatory Industry (Regulatory Consultancy, Regulatory Agency, etc.).
  • Ensure the company’s products are registered under REACH or similar schemes in applicable markets.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure correct classification and labeling of company products for all markets.
  • Support SDS compliance using software to generate and update files to meet regional requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory trends and developments, advising management accordingly.
  • Lead or assist with investigation and resolution of potential non-compliance.
  • Ensure marketing material contains correct H&S information and meets other regional requirements.
  • Support Sales in resolving customer or tender-specific questions or requirements.
